Kolorektal Kanser Hastalarının Birinci Derece Akrabalarının Risk Farkındalığı ve Bilgi Düzeylerinin Belirlenmesi: Türkiye Örneği

Amaç: Bu çalışma, kolorektal kanser hastalarının birinci derece akrabalarının kolorektal kanser hakkındaki bilgi düzeylerini ve kolorektal kanser risk faktörleri konusundaki farkındalıklarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Yöntem: Bu çalışma betimsel bir çalışmadır. Üniversite hastanesinde kolorektal kanser tanısı ile kemoterapi gören 251 hasta çalışmanın örneklemini oluşturmuştur. Veriler, Bilgi Formu ve Kolorektal Kanserler Hakkında Bilgi ve Farkındalık Düzeylerinin Değerlendirilmesi Anketi kullanılarak yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ile elde edilmiştir.
Bulgular: Kolorektal Kanserler Hakkında Bilgi ve Farkındalık Düzeylerinin Değerlendirilmesi Anketi'nin ortalama puanı 10,61 ± 5,65 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu puan, kolorektal kanser aile öyküsü olan ve kemoterapi gören bireylerin kolorektal kanser hakkında orta düzeyde bilgi ve farkındalığa sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Katılımcıların üçte ikisi, diyabet, obezite, yaşam tarzı, sigara ve alkol kullanımının kolorektal kanser riskini artırdığını bildiklerini belirtmiştir.
Sonuç: Sonuçlar, yaşlı, düşük eğitimli, erkek ve kırsal kesimde yaşayan katılımcıların kolorektal kanserler hakkında bilgi ve farkındalık düzeylerini artırmak için daha fazla eğitime ihtiyaç duyduklarını ortaya koymuştur.
