Abstract

The aim of the study is to investigate the causes and mechanism of postoperative bowel paralysis on the basis of evaluating the genetic determination of neurohormonal processes that regulate the ability of the intestines to contract, and determine their role in the choice of treatment approach. The study provides data on the relationship between the variables of the Serotonin Carrier gene, which regulates serotonin reuptake, and its concentration in blood plasma, and the possibility of postoperative bowel paralysis. This made it possible to predict the possibility of post-operative disorders of the motor-evacuation function of the intestines as well as to develop prevention and pathogen-based treatment algorithms
