Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic syndrome with multiple etiologies involving insulin. T2DM accounts for 90-95% of diabetes mellitus. Obesity and physical inactivity play a critical role in the development of T2DM. Treatment and follow-up of this metabolic syndrome are tried to be controlled with diet, medication and lifestyle changes such as physical activity. Because diabetes mellitus is particularly associated with lifestyles, many studies have focused on the therapeutic effects of exercise on diabetes. The aim of this review is to examine the effects of exercise on blood glucose levels of rats with diabetes mellitus, which has become a global health problem. Although some previous studies have observed that running training does not reduce increased blood glucose levels in diabetic rats, other studies have proven that high blood glucose levels in diabetic rats are lowered by running training. Aerobic exercise applied to rats with T2DM as a treatment method; The addition of resistance and endurance exercises has also been shown to have a significant effect on lowering blood glucose levels and curing the disease. As a result, it can be said that when the intensity and duration of exercise are adjusted correctly, it reduces the progression of type 2 diabetes and increases the quality of life of individuals.
