Evaluation forms prepared on Google Forms were sent to the academicians via e-mail. The demographic information of the participants was taken, A Nutrition Knowledge Level Scale For Adults (NKLSA) was used to evaluate the nutritional knowledge level and the Exercise Beliefs Questionnaire (EBQ) was used to determine the exercise beliefs.

Results: A total of 92 academicians, 21 (22.8%) working in the field of health sciences, 38 (41.3%) science and 33 (35.9%) social sciences participated in the study. The mean age of the participants was 37.38±8.30 years. 19 (20.7%) of all participants reported that they had regular exercise habits. As a result of the analyzes, it was determined that the basic nutrition and nutrition-health knowledge (NKLSA-NK) and food preference (NKLSA-FP) scores and EIA-advantage scores of academicians in the field of health sciences were higher than academicians in other fields (p<0.05); The EIA-disadvantages score was found to be similar in all groups (p=0.91). In addition, it was determined that there was a positive relationship between NKLSA-NK score and NKLSA-FP, a negative relationship between EIA-advantage score and exercise barriers, and a positive relationship between EIA-advantage score and NKLSA-FP (respectively r=0.594; r= -0.346; r=0.428).

Conclusion: It has been determined that academicians working in the field of health have more adequate nutritional knowledge and positive beliefs about the benefits of exercise compared to academicians in other fields. However, it has been determined that all academics have a prejudice about exercise and various barriers that prevent exercise.
ER -
